Spiros Deligiannopoulos

Spiros Deligiannopoulos is a Greek composer,sound designer, musicologist and pianist.

 He studied Musicology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1995-2000).

The same  period he studied Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue and Piano (he graduated with a “1st Prize of outstanding performance”) at the “Contemporary Conservatory of Thessaloniki”.

In 2001 he moved to London , where he studied Composition (MMus in composition) at Goldsmiths-University of London.

Returning to Greece , he completed a PhD in Composition (2011) at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, under the supervision of Michalis Lapidakis.

He attended Composition Master Classes in Croatia with Joel Hoffman (2012) and in International Music Institution of Darmstadt with Bryan Ferneyhough, Georges Aperghis, Michel Roth, Pierluigi Billone (2014).

 He is member of the Greek Composers Union (from 2008)

 As a musicologist he has written more than 200 program notes for “The Athens Concert Hall”, “The Athens Music Festival”, and “The Athens Lyrical Scene”.

As a pianist, he has given more than 500 public appearances, including recitals, collaborations with chamber ensembles and  orchestras.

 As a composer: 1st Prize for his work “String Quartet no 2” at the annual Pan-Hellenic Composition Contest “Papaioannou” (2003). Works of him have been performed, among others, at: The Athens Concert Hall , Theocharakis Foundation for the fine arts and music, Goethe-German Institute of Athens, “Parnassos” Athens Concert Hall, University of Thessaloniki, Technological Educational Institute of Patras and abroad.
